The Celtic knot symbol is also referred to as the endless knot or trinity knot. The Celts believed that the most important things in life came in threes. The symbol is found throughout the ancient civilizations in various forms depicted as a Celtic knot , interlinked triangles or fish. It appears in Germanic, Scandinavia, Roman, Egyptian, Indian and within the Celtic cultures. The origin and history is not exactly clear but it has appeared in a variety of forms as early as five thousand years ago.
